Before I begin my report to the nation, please join me first in a moment of prayer for President Cory Aquino. Senate President Enrile, Speaker Nograles, Senators, Representatives, Vice President de Castro, former President Ramos, Chief Justice Puno, Ambassadors friends:

The past twelve months have been a year for the history books. Financial meltdown in the West spread throughout the world.

Tens of millions lost their jobs; billions across the globe have been hurt—the poor always harder than the rich. No one was spared.

It has affected us already. But the story of the Philippines in 2008 is that the country weathered a succession of global crises in fuel, in food, then in finance and finally, economy in a global recession, never losing focus and with economic fundamentals intact.

A few days ago, Moody’s upgraded our credit rating, citing the resilience of our economy. The state of our nation is a strong economy. Good news for our people, bad news for our critics.

I did not become President to be popular. To work, to lead, to protect and preserve our country, our people, that is why I became President. When my father left the Presidency, we were second to Japan. I want our Republic to be ready for the first world in 20 years.

Towards that vision, we made key reforms. Our economic plan centers on putting people first. New tax revenues were put in place to help pay for better healthcare, more roads, and a strong education system. Housing policies were designed to lift up our poorer citizens so they can live and raise a family with dignity. Ang ating mga puhunan sa agrikultura ay naglalayong kilalanin ang ating mga magsasaka bilang backbone ng ating bansa, at bigyan sila ng mga modernong kagamitan to feed our nation and feed their own family.

Had we listened to the critics of those policies, had we not braced ourselves for the crisis that came, had we taken the easy road much preferred by politicians eyeing elections, this country would be flat on its back. It would take twice the effort just to get it back again on its feet—to where we are now because we took the responsibility and paid the political price of doing the right thing. For standing with me and doing the right thing, thank you, Congress.

The strong, bitter and unpopular revenue measures of the past few years have spared our country the worst of the global financial shocks. They gave us the resources to stimulate the economy. Nabigyan nila ang pinakamalaking pagtaas ng IRA ng mga LGU na P40 billion itong taon, imparting strength throughout the country at every level of government.

Compared to the past we have built more and better infrastructure, including those started by others but left unfinished. The Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway is a prime example of building better roads. It creates wealth as the flagship of the Subic-Clark corridor.

We have built airports of international standard, upgraded domestic airports, built seaports and the roll on/roll off transport system. I ask Congress for a Philippine Transport Security Authority Law.

Some say that after this SONA, it will be all politics. Sorry, but there’s more work.

We need to amend the Commonwealth-era Public Service Law. And we need to do it now.

Kung noong nakaraan, lumakas ang electronics, today we are creating wealth by developing the BPO and tourism sectors as additional engines of growth. Electronics and other manufactured exports rise and fall in accordance with the state of the world economy. But BPO remains resilient. With earnings of $6 billion and employment of 600,000, the BPO phenomenon speaks eloquently of our competitiveness and productivity. Let us have a Department of ICT.

In the last four years tourism almost doubled. It is now a $5 billion industry.

Our reforms gave us the resources to protect our people, our financial system and our economy from the worst of shocks that the best in the west failed to anticipate.

They gave us the resources to extend welfare support and enhance spending power.

For helping me raise government salaries through Joint Resolution 4, thank you, Congress.

Cash handouts give the most immediate relief and produce the widest stimulating effect.

We prioritize projects with the same stimulus effects plus long-term contributions to progress.

Napapanahon, it’s timely because it will unfreeze the rural property market.

Good luck, Gigi.

Nakinabang ang isang milyong pamilya sa programang pabahay at palupa, mula Pag-Ibig, NHA, community mortgage program, certificates of lot award, at saka iyong loan condonation.

Our average inflation is the lowest since 1966. Last June, it dropped to 1.5%. Paano?

Proper policies lowered interest rates, which lowered costs to business and consumers.

Congratulations, Tarnati. We will help more fisherfolk shift to fish farming with a budget of P1 billion.

Our efforts prodded the pharmaceutical companies to come up with low-cost generics and brands like RiteMed. I supported the tough version of the House of the Cheaper Medicine law. I supported it over the weak version of my critics. The result: the drug companies volunteered to bring down drug prices, slashing by half the prices of 16 drugs. Thank you, Congressmen Cua, Alvarez, Biron, Locsin.

Pursuant to law, we are placing other drugs under a maximum retail price. To those who want to be President, this advice: If you really want something done, just do it. Do it hard, do it well. Don’t pussyfoot. Don’t pander. And don’t say bad words in public.

The next generation will benefit from low prices from our EPIRA.

We increased indigenous energy from 48% to 58%. The huge reduction in fossil fuel is the biggest proof of energy independence and environmental responsibility. Further reduction will come with the implementation of the Renewable Energy Act, and the Biofuels Act.

The next generation will also benefit from our lower public debt to GDP ratio. It declined from 78% in 2000 to 55% in 2008. We cut in half the debt of government corporations from 15% to 7%. Likewise foreign debt from 73% to 32%. Those in the past administrations conjured the demon of foreign debt. We exorcised it.

The market grows economies. A free market, not a free-for-all.

To that end, we improved our banking system to complement its inherent conservatism. The Bangko Sentral has been prudent. Thank you, Governor Tetangco, for being so effective. The BSP will be even more effective if Congress will amend its Charter.

We worked on the Special Purpose Vehicle Act, reducing non-performing loans from 18% to 4% and improving loan-deposit ratios.

Our new Securitization Law did not encourage the recklessness that brought down giant banks and insurance companies elsewhere and laid their economies to waste. In fact, it monitors and regulates the new-fangled financial schemes. Thank you, Congress.

We will work to increase tax effort through improved collections and new sin taxes to further our capacity to reduce poverty and pursue growth. Revenue enhancement must come from the Department of Finance plugging leaks and catching tax and customs cheats. I call on tax paying citizens and tax paying businesses, help the BIR and stop those tax cheats.

Taxes should come from alcohol and tobacco and not from books. Tax hazards to lungs and livers, do not tax minds.

Pardon my partiality for the teaching profession. I was a teacher.

Ang magandang edukasyon ay susi sa mas magandang buhay, the great equalizer that allows every young Filipino a chance to realize their dreams.

In private high schools, we finance half of the students.

We have provided college and post-graduate education for over 600,000 scholars. One of them, Mylene Amerol-Macumbal, finished Accounting at MSU-IIT, then she went to law school, and placed second in the last bar exams – the first Muslim woman bar topnotcher. Congratulations!

In technical education and skills training, we have invested three times that of three previous administrations combined. Now, as an independent contractor and lecturer for transcriptions in Davao, kumikita siya ng P18,000 bawat buwan. Good job, Jennifer.

The Presidential Task Force on Education headed by Jesuit educator Father Bienvenido Nebres has come out with the Main Education Highway towards a Knowledge-Based Economy. It envisions seamless education from basic to vocational school or college.

It seeks to mainstream early childhood development in basic education. Our children are our most cherished possession. In their early years we must make sure they get a healthy start in life. They must receive the right food for a healthy body, the right education for a bright and inquiring mind—and the equal opportunity for a meaningful job.

For college admission, the Task Force recommends mandatory Scholastic Aptitude Tests. It also recommends that higher private education institutions should be harmonized with state universities and colleges, and that CHED should oversee local universities and colleges. For professions seeking international recognition—engineering, architecture, accountancy, pharmacy and physical therapy—it recommends radical reform: 10 years of basic education, two years of pre-university, before three years of university.

Our educational system should make the Filipino fit not just for whatever jobs happen to be on offer today, but also for whatever economic challenge life will throw in their way.

I know that this is not a sacrifice joyfully borne. This is work where it can be found—in faraway places, among strangers with different cultures. It is lonely work, it is hard work.

Kaya nagsisikap tayong lumikha dito sa atin ng mga trabahong maganda ang sahod, so that overseas work will just be a career choice, not the only option for a hard-working Filipino.

Meanwhile, we should make their sacrifices worthwhile. Dapat gumawa tayo ng mas epektibong proteksyon at pagpapalawak ng halaga ng kanilang pinagsikapang suweldo. That means stronger consumer protection for Overseas Filipino Workers investing in property and products back home.

Mula sa ating State Visit sa Espanya, it has become our biggest European donor.

We thank all our leaders, our world leaders, for showing compassion to our overseas foreign workers. Salamat.

Our vigorous international engagement has helped bring in foreign investment. Net foreign direct investments multiplied 15 times during our administration. Kasama ng ating mga Together with our OFWs, they more than doubled our foreign exchange reserves. They upgraded our credit because while the reserves of our peers have shrunk this past year, ours reserves grew by $3 billion.

Our international engagement has also corrected historical injustice. The day we visited Washington, Senator Daniel Inouye successfully sponsored benefits for our veterans as part of America’s stimulus package.

I have accepted the invitation of President Obama to be the first Southeast Asian leader to meet him at the White House, later this week.

That he sought us out testifies to our strong and deep ties.

High on our agenda will be peace and security issues. Terrorism: how to meet it, how to end it, how to address its roots in injustice or prejudice—and first and always how to protect lives.

We will discuss nuclear non-proliferation. The Philippines will chair the review of the nuclear weapons non-proliferation Treaty in New York in May 2010. The success of the talks will be a major diplomatic achievement for us.

There is a range of other issues we will discuss, including the global challenge of climate change, especially the threat to countries with long coastlines. And there is the global recession, its worse impact on poor people, and the options that can spare them from the worst.

In 2008 up to the first quarter of 2009 we stood among only a few economies in Asia-Pacific that did not shrink. Compare this to 2001, when some of my current critics were driven out by people power. Asia was surging but our country was on the brink of bankruptcy.

Since then, our economy posted uninterrupted growth for 33 quarters; more than doubled its size from $76 billion to $186 billion. The average GDP growth from 2001 to the first quarter of 2009 is the highest in 43 years.

GNP per capita rose from a Third World $967 to $2,000. Lumikha tayo ng walong milyong trabaho, an average of a million a year, much, much more than at any other time.

In sum: 1. We have a strong economy and a strong fiscal position to withstand global shocks.

2. We built new modern infrastructure and completed unfinished ones.

3. The economy is more fair to the poor than ever before.

4. We are building a sound base for the next generation.

5. International authorities have taken notice that we are safer from environmental degradation and man-made disasters.

As a country in the path of typhoons and in the Pacific Rim of Fire, we must be prepared as the latest technology permits to anticipate natural calamities when that is possible; to extend immediate and effective relief when it is not. The mapping of flood- and landslide-prone areas is almost complete. Early warning, forecasting and monitoring systems have been improved, with weather tracking facilities in Subic, Tagaytay, Mactan, Mindanao, Pampanga.

We have worked on flood control infrastructure like those for Pinatubo, Agno, Laoag, and Abucay, which will pump the run off waters from Quezon City and Tondo flooding Sampaloc. This will help relieve hundreds of hectares in this old city of its age old woe.

The victims of typhoon Frank in Panay should receive their long-overdue assistance package. I ask Congress to pass the SNITS Law.

Nahuli noong 2006. She is now involved in an LGU-supported handicraft livelihood training of former rebels. We love you, Leah!

There is now a good prospect for peace talks with both the Communist Party of the Philippines and the MILF, with whom we are now on ceasefire.

We inherited an age-old conflict in Mindanao, exacerbated by a politically popular but near-sighted policy of massive retaliation. This only provoked the other side to continue the war.

In these two internal conflicts, ang tanong ay hindi, “Sino ang mananalo?” kundi, bakit pa ba kailangang mag-laban ang kapwa Pilipino tungkol sa mga isyu na alam naman nating lahat na di malulutas sa dahas, at mareresolba lang sa paraang demokratiko?

There is nothing more that I would wish for than peace in Mindanao. It will be a blessing for all its people, Muslim, Christian and lumads. It will show other religiously divided communities that there can be common ground on which to live together in peace, harmony and cooperation that respects each other’s religious beliefs.

At sa lahat ng dako ng bansa, kailangan nating protektahan ang ating mga mamamayan kontra sa krimen’ — in their homes, in their neighborhoods, in their communities. How shall crime be fought? With the five pillars of justice, including crime fighters. We call on Congress to fund more policemen on the streets.

Real government is about looking beyond the vested to the national interest, setting up the necessary conditions to enable the next, more enabled and more empowered generation to achieve a country as prosperous, a people as content, as ours deserve to be.

The noisiest critics of constitutional reform tirelessly and shamelessly attempted Cha-Cha when they thought they could take advantage of a shift in the form of government. Now that they feel they cannot benefit from it, they oppose it.

As the seeds of fundamental political reform are planted, let us address the highest exercise of democracy, voting!

In 2001, I said we would finance fully automated elections. We got it, thanks to Congress.

At the end of this speech I shall step down from this stage, but not from the Presidency. My term does not end until next year. Until then, I will fight for the ordinary Filipino. The nation comes first. There is much to do as head of state—to the very last day.

A year is a long time. There are many perils that we must still guard against.

A man-made calamity is already upon us, global in scale. As I said earlier, so far we have been spared its worst effects but we cannot be complacent. We only know that we have generated more resources on which to draw, and thereby created options we could take. Thank God we did not let our critics stop us.

As the campaign unfolds and the candidates take to the airwaves, I ask them to talk more about how they will build up the nation rather than tear down their opponents. Give the electorate real choices and not just sweet talk.

Meanwhile, I will keep a steady hand on the tiller, keeping the ship of state away from the shallows some prefer, and steering it straight on the course we set in 2001.

These qualities are epitomized in someone like Manny Pacquiao….Manny trained tirelessly, by the book, with iron discipline, with the certain knowledge that he had to fight himself, his weaknesses first, before he could beat his opponent. That was the way to clinch his victories and his ultimate title: ang pinakadakilang boksingero sa kasaysayan. Mabuhay ka, Manny!

However much a President wishes it, a national problem cannot be knocked out with a single punch. She must work with the problem as much as against it, turn it into a solution if she can.

There isn’t a day I do not work at my job or a waking moment when I do not think through a work-related problem. Even my critics cannot begrudge the long hours I put in. Our people deserve-a-government that works just as hard as they do.

A President must be on the job 24/7, ready for any contingency, any crisis, anywhere, anytime.

Everything right can be undone by even a single wrong. Every step forward must be taken in the teeth of political pressures and economic constraints that could push you two steps back-if-you flinch and falter. I have not flinched, I have not faltered. Hindi ako umaatras sa hamon.

And I have never done any of the things that have scared my worst critics so much. They are frightened by their own shadows.

In the face of attempted coups, I issued emergency proclamations just in case. But I was able to resolve these military crises with the ordinary powers of my office. My critics call it dictatorship. I call it determination. We know it as strong government.

But I never declared martial law, though they are running scared as if I did. In truth, what they are really afraid of is their weakness in the face of this self-imagined threat.

I say to them: do not tell us what we all know, that democracy can be threatened. Tell us what you will do when it is attacked.

I know what to do:

As I have shown, I will defend democracy with arms when it is threatened by violence; with firmness when it is weakened by division; with law and order when it is subverted by anarchy; and always, I will try to sustain it by wise policies of economic progress, so that a democracy means not just an empty liberty but a full life for all.

I never expressed the desire to extend myself beyond my term. Many of those who accuse me of it tried to cling like nails to their posts.

I am accused of misgovernance. Many of those who accuse me of it left me the problem of their misgovernance to solve. And we did it.

I am falsely accused, without proof, of using my position for personal profit. Many who accuse me have lifestyles and spending habits that make them walking proofs of that crime.

We can read their frustrations. They had the chance to serve this good country and they blew it by serving themselves.

Those who live in glass houses should cast no stones. Those who should be in jail should not threaten it, especially if they have been there.

Our administration, with the highest average rate of growth, recording multiple increases in investments, with the largest job creation in history, and which gets a credit upgrade at the height of a world recession, must be doing something right, even if some of those cocooned in corporate privilege refuse to recognize it.

Governance, however, is not about looking back and getting even. It is about looking forward and giving more—to the people who gave us the greatest, hardest gift of all: the care of a country.

From Bonifacio at Balintawak to Cory Aquino at EDSA and up to today, we have struggled to bring power to the people, and this country to the eminence it deserves.

Today the Philippines is weathering well the storm that is raging around the world. It is growing stronger with the challenge. When the weather clears, as it will, there is no telling how much farther forward it can go. Believe in it. I believe.

We can and we must march forward with hope, optimism and determination.

We must come together, work together and walk together toward the future.

And to the people of our good country, for allowing me to serve as your President, maraming salamat.

Mabuhay ang Pilipinas.

WHAT AN ASS!!!

CONGRESSMEN WHO APPROVED THE CON ASS:

ABANTE, BIENVENIDO M. “BENNY” 6TH District Pandacan
ABLAN, ROQUE R. Let me tell you bout their story and may it inspire you as it did to me.

They lived separate lives. It never even dawned on both of them that the other exist. But indeed destiny had other plans. They met. But they were not aware of the other. Still, they were unaware of what lies ahead. They tried to live life normally…to defy what destiny wrote for them. But the pen that wrote their story was stronger than their defiance. The feelings were stronger than their thoughts. Their thoughts still led them to each other. Questions were raised and God was reluctant to provide them answers until they would learn to listen to what their hearts were singing. She tried and no longer that her knees touch the ground in prayer, she heard the angels sing a beautiful love song. But unlike her, he had many questions, doubts and fears. He was unable to hear the songs because he was hurting. He was deaf to whatever answers that God provided him. She held on believing that one day he will find peace in his heart just like her. The wait was long and hard for her. But she patiently waited. He had the answers but he was distracted. However, destiny had no plans of giving up on them. He clearly laid out everything to him. Taught him how to listen to the rythmn of his heart. Finally, he danced to the music. He finally opened his heart to her who had patiently waited and loved him. They found themselves helplessly in love with each other. Destiny was happy and he entrusted to them the pen. The pen that should continue to write their story.

LESSON LEARNED: We write our own destiny. Sometimes we fall apart but destiny pulls us back into the road that we were tasked to take. We often overanalyze. We fail to listen to what our hearts tells us because we are often blinded by thoughts and emotions. We have lots of baggages in our lives that we are yet to unload. If we learn to do just that, we will realize that the simplest things in life are the things that would make us really happy, focused and contented.

I had always been an advocate of love. Tried my best to keep the fire burning. But what wasn’t meant to be, will never be. I unloaded my baggages and I found out that amongst them was a beautiful one. Packed lightly and neatly. It said ” I believe you had been looking for this for quite sometime. Love Father God.” When I tried to open it…I found God’s perfect gift for me.

Serendipity

I rest on the fact that love when real will make its way to the lovers. Then I ask, who Was I destined to spend life with whom? I waited and I thought i found the answer…Yet to my dismay and disappointment…I again was wrong. I let things flow naturally. Not to force anything on anyone or on me. The right man shall come. At the perfect moment, and in God’s perfect time. That is serendipity…destiny shall make your world grow smaller each day. You shall in the end find yourself in the arms of “the one”, No hurry, no worries! Life is beautiful and love makes every single minute worth living. (Trust me! Serendipity had its way to make things right for me!)

Falling in love was never a task…nor is it a commitment… Falling in love is a right and a privilege. I was just one of the million of fans that streamed to the tv sets while the PACMAN hits the canvass. Today May 3, 2009 (Philippine Time) is no different.

Everything comes into a halt. Appointments cancelled. Work set aside. Traffic jams no more. Downtown is enveloped with a deafening silence.

Me and a couple of friends were glued to the makeshift screen at a local resto. Admittedly it was my first time to watch it together with other PACMAN fans and the euphoria is so strong that it was almost unbelievable. The mere sight of Manny on the screen send people clapping.

Then finally, it is TIME. MGM readies itself with the one of the greatest fight of the year. Martin Nievera sang the Philippine National Anthem and it sent me into trance…I was proud to be a Filipino…It was yet one of the best renditions of our national anthem with Martin jazzing it set every Filipino spirit in the mood. Everyone in the room was clapping and shouting…I guess everyone else shared my emotions. Well, one of the blunders of the day was when Manny was introduced as someone from Saranggani, Philippines (for so long he was from Gensan). The announcement shocked the whole room. I thought it had ruined everyone’s mood… I was wrong… It may have shocked us but who cares…It is still Manny …saan man xa lupalop ng Pilipinas pinulot!

Everyone was at the edge of their seats when finally Michael Buffer uttered his famous line. “Let’s get ready to rumble…” Everyone was shouting and clapping for every punch of the PACMAN. It didn’t even take 10 seconds into the game and everyone was up on their feet especially when the PACMAN sent Hatton into the canvass for the first time. (I swear I was on top of my chair…jumping like crazy..all hands up in the air.) I couldn’t care less, everyone was doing the same!

Then, as fast as it had began it was all over. Manny, again made everyone proud, ecstatic, happy, satisfied…THE WEST got the biggest shock of their life with the PACMAN sending the HITMAN to dreamland. The years greatest fight had turned out to be a historic win for every Filipino.

Yet again the PACMAN taught this nation one great lesson:

“TO GOD BE THE GLORY…
…WITH HARDWORK AND PRAYERS NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE…”

South Cotabato at a Glance

I had been travelling these part of the world so many times that I sometimes forget to look at the scenery in front of me. Well, i used to the routine of leaving and starting over again. Well, i guess this time it was a totally different story. I am never good at goodbyes.

My RBTI story had been a rollercoaster of emotions. People close to me knew what the hell I had to go through. It was of pains, disappointment and unacceptance. It took me long to finally earn the respect and the friendship of everyone. Me and my usual bubbly self...I finally learned to let loose and be friends with everyone around. Like i care about the criticisms. What matters was I did what was expected of me. And I am glad that today, my big boss finally appreciated what I had done for the past three years.

But its not about the accomplishments and the praises for a job well done. But its about the relationships that I had built. The friendship that had flourished over the years. It was not all laughters that we shared. We had disagreements but what mattered was we all were friends at the end of the day.

To everyone from my RBTI family. I THANK YOU...

.....for the healthy laughters...and the tears as well...

.....for the praises for a job well done...

.....for the pounds i gained because of non stop eating...

.....for the criticisms because it made me stronger and gave me strength to do better...

..... for the nonstop intrigahan...

..... for the inspiration...

.....for everything...

I shall forever treasure in my heart all the memories we shared...and I shallcarry in my heart every little piece of memory where ever I am. I am a better person because I had met you in this lifetime.

Parting time, I realized is sad.. It is heart breaking. But whats more important is the footprints that you had left behind. It is about knowing that somehow you touched other people's lives by simply being you...that somehow you know they will miss you too.

a must read

I had nothing to do one lonely saturday night down bonifacio high street in taguig city, metro manila..(yeah i am just being a little melodramatic here!) passed by fully booked and how can i resist when i am on a four storey all books bookstore! (yah kaya nga fully booked eh! u bookworms outhere...its the place to be). I totally fell in love with the place...and with starbucks on the fourth floor...it made me estatic, almost in heaven..knowing such heavenly place exist on earth..weee....

As usual i went to the "must reads" and i found the twilight novels... Just by looking at it made me very curious..well, could this be indeed a next blockbuster? The book is sold at an affordable price that made me buy the first three books... twilight, eclipse and new moon. I bought the novels without even knowing if it was worth every penny...

I started reading and i couldn't stop. it made me wonder: could a vampire empire coexist with every human?

i fell in love with every character in the novel...Who wouldnt fall in love with the character of Bella and Edward?

the love of Edward for Bella was so much that he would do every thing for her..Even wanting to let go so that Bella wouldnt even think of wanting to be a vampire too...

Bella's love for Edward. ..one knows it real and its deep but later, one you might ask..if it is, how come she is also in love with Jacob the werewolf?

i Love the cullens for sure.

There are the kind of conflicts one dosnt expect. This month is harvest month and we are expected to increase rice production by a larger percentage… Something that “might” eventually reduce the price of rice… but this is the ideal..this is what might happen….EVENTUALLY IT WONT… TRADERS/MILLERS are not purchasing the palays sold by the farmers for fear that they will be raided by the National Bureau of Investigation or the Department of Justice….Where is justice in that?!!!!! When all this sacks of palay may have been able to feed countless of Filipinos…now they are left in the hands of farmers to decay…to go to waste….Can you see the logic in this???? I am no one …I am not an expert on this but all I can say now is…ISN’T THIS ALL A PART OF GRAND CONSPIRACY ? RICE CARTEL? THAT INDEED NOW THE PHILIPPINES IS DICTATING THE PRICE OF RICE IN THE WORLD MARKET?!!!!! SIMPLE ECONOMICS..ONE CREATES THE DEMAND AND IF THE SUPPLY IS NOT ENOUGH …VOILA…SHORTAGE! WHEN SUPPLY BECOMES AVAILABLE…U THREATEN SUPPLIERS AGAINST HOARDING… SHORTAGE REMAINS.. AND THE PRICE? IT CONTINUES TO RISE!!!

THE BORACAY INCIDENT…

…. A troop of Boracay visitors was stranded in the Manila Domestic Airport for hours.. including the presidential daughter.. while the rest waited in vain the luckiest daughter was hauled out of the airport via a helicopter ride to God knows where…
….My point is.. whether Ms Arroyo was hauled out of the airport to Boracay or to anywhere else..hey that is taxpayer’s money!!! So many are hungry yet just because Miss Arroyo is holed up at the airport for hours…the government is willing to spend thousands of pesos just to end her ordeal…what a lucky girl…I NEED NOT SAY ANYTHING MORE….

GLOBAL WARMING...CLIMATE CHANGE

IT IS SO HOT... FUNNY THING IS LAST WEEK I WAS IN MANILA AND MY GOODNESS IT IS SOOOOOOO HOT THAT I HAD TO TAKE A BATH THE LEAST WAS THREE TIMES IN A DAY BUT STILL IT WAS HOT. I MIGHT HAVE DRANK A BARREL OF COKE TO REFRESH MYSELF BUT THEN I WAS THIRSTY ALL THE TIME..

WENT TO THE MALL TO EVENTUALLY HAVE A COOLER SURROUNDING BUT YET IT WAS CROWDED.. AND THE TRAVEL WAS LONG AND HOT.... WE HAD TO TAKE THE MRT PERO PUNUAN DIN... MAYBE EVERYONE WAS THINKING OF THE SAME THING... COOL ONESELF IN THE MALL....

WHEN I TEXTED SOME OF MY FRIENDS IN THE PROVINCE...I WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN THAT THE RAIN HASN'T STOPPED FOR DAYS.. I WISH I WAS HOME AT THAT VERY MOMENT...

Sobrang init talaga and through the years..it seems to get hotter every summer. It wasnt as hot as today when i was younger.. i didn't know climate also evolves.. and eventually it had.. a year ago, in my province, at least three people died of heat stroke... whoever thought... that people can die from extreme heat from the sun?

I browsed my friends picture who was from canada and i saw that the it is still snowing....funny..yeah funny but definitely ALARMING!!!! i just cant imagine what kind of summer my children might experience... I used to love summer...lounging by the beach... spending it playing around with kids my age... sleeping my heart out... but i know it will never be the same.. i eventually wouldnt want my kids to play by the beach when it is about 40 degrees hot...no way...

and at the rate it is going now.. it will eventually get hotter....whew!!!!!!!!!!!

Yet, there is no one to blame but us! we have continually abused mother nature and now it is all coming back at us... Nature at its WORST... wat can we do?

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5192301618153207186" style="DISPLAY: block; I do not want yet another people power and unsit the president. I do not want to commit the same mistake that exactly put President Arroyo in that very same position. I do not want that the "should be" president in case, Arroyo steps down will have so much "utang na loob" and appoint all those who put him in power. I share the same conviction as Senator Gordon..."whatever we do we can never stop corruption in government...the system itself is already corrupt" actually vaer corrupted... i do not know if there is still some morality in this institution... sorry for those who are not but a mistake of the few...the whole organization is at stake (di nga lang few eh..)

DON'T GET ME WRONG.READ ON...

Yes, i do believe that the first couple is guilty as hell. There may be no sufficient evidence to back up allegations but anyway...who needs evidence in corruption? The Arroyo's are not stupid as Erap to leave evidence for people like the opposition to find...Of course they cleaned up a long time ago...(Marcos corruption cases with the PCGG had been dismissed due to this... because he was intelligent enough to clean up the mess!)

Jun Lozada is NO HERO! Yes, i had been an ardent viewer of this reality show called "NBN-ZTE Senate Hearing" I've watched patiently and listended to every word people has to say... I know i am not an authority to judge character...but as simple as I am.. by how consistently he answers the questions without batting an eyelash... I know.. HE IS DEFINETLY TELLING THE TRUTH. He gave up so much for the TRUTH...put his life and family on the line and hey...he actually asked the people to forgive him for he was once one of "them"...Whew that was some courage. The government was definetly fast to file cases of corruption against him... how about the others who was greedier than him? Jun Lozada is one perfect epitome of "moderate greed"..hahaha..

I have had so much respect for PNP Chief Gen Razon... but now... i do not know anymore. That leaves me thinking..."HOW POWERFUL ARROYO IS... GOSHH..kaya lumalaki ulo coz she knows there will always be people who would cover up for her.)

UNITY WALKS... what does Arroyo want that for? It came out from the mouths of cabinet secretaries themselves... The people who are at the rallies is not representative of the 93 million filipinos.. And same should go to this congressmen and lgu officers...They also are not representative of the 93 million filipinos. Their opinion is definitely not the opinion of "us". Their opinion is dependent on the release of "pork barrel", "ERA" and other "Benefits" which may come in handy especially on times like this... Of course, if I am one of them... would i sacrifice this " fund release" just because of my conviction??? OF COURSE NO...Not now when the 2010 national election is just around the corner.

I personally may not be for yet another people power but surely I want Arroyo to be accountabe... I WANT AN IMPEACHMENT PROCEEDING materialize in the senate. Now that is another reality show to watch out for...another blockbuster...but that is yet to uncover looks like the writers (congressmen) are on strike..they do not want that pencil to write a single word tothat story..

But after all this bruhahaha... i feel sorry for those

who are yet to beg in order that they may eat...

To shelter themselves under the trees of baywalk, because they are homeless...

the Sumilao farmers, who worked all their life had tilled the land yet today cannot harvest any.

the victims of the current floods in the Bicol Region (their local leaders are in malacanang doing their stupid unity walk)

the 2008 graduating class who shall be out there soon looking for .

The government is not GLORIA MACAPAGAL ARROYO. After all if it is not for the money we pay (As much as we would have wanted to take a bigger net take home pay!) for taxes this "greedy ones" may not be anything....they could not be living in posh villages and driving luxury cars. Doesn't it that this elected officials should owe their "utang na loob" to the millions of people who voted for them? I didn't know if I should laugh or be saddened or embarassed over the petty fight between two respected politician of davao.

But one thing surely did catch my attention...when the congressman said that the Mayor does nothing but terrorize the constituents of davao city.... I BEG TO DISAGREE...thats why i nearly fell off my chair...

I had been a resident of davao for almost five years and i still come home to davao on weekends. Davao is home for me. Not because i have my friends, and my family there but Davao is such a livable City. When you are in davao you get to know what living peacefully is. You could actually walk around town at the middle of the night without even having to worry every second that a lowly criminal will attack you. Of course, i am not saying that Davao is crime free...but there's no reason to be paranoid about stuff when your in davao. it is so damn peaceful..unless you get in the wrong crowd of course..

I came across rich aristocrats from provinces around davao..most of their kids are enrolled in davao rather than in manila...i constantly asked the question why (its my silent way of surveying if people share the same sentiments that i have) and i get the same answer everytime...BECAUSE IN DAVAO THEY KNOW THEIR KIDS ARE SAFE.

Whether its true that the Mayor terrorize people in davao...i don't really give a damn coz i know i shall be forever wanting him to be the father of Davao because people tend to follow the law...no one dares to break them...because when they do they will never know what lies ahead...Some people may call that terrorizing but i guess not when i myself reap the benefits of such act... i don't feel threatened and i know thousands of Davaoenos feel the same. You really got nothing to be really worried about if you know you have never inflicted harm on anybody else...and when you do...better run and hide!

Whatever this two are fighting about... i really don't care...cause i know i am living peacefully in davao.

Davao at peace...davao's beautiful skyline...

"NOISIER,NOSIER and NASTIER!"

im 28...and yes more than half of my life were spent on politics...uh oh...not that i am really into politics (i never dream of making my life hell!) but because i am a filipino, and being one makes me stupid to not care about what is happening. I was 6 during the edsa 1.i was 21 during edsa 2 and the political noise has never stopped but rather became more irritating than it has ever been..

more than three decades and our politics has never improved NOT A BIT! It got even NOISIER..NOSIER AND NASTIER....

Yes, I said NOSIER..you didn't get me wrong nor did i spelled the word differently. The most simple and routine activities of a politicians easily earns its media mileage specially if it would destroy or build ones reputation and the hell it changes ones life... Whoever said that rumors and intrigues are just for the moviestars...with our politicians around...the moviestars can say goodbye to the limelight. Can we blame media? No! Blame our politicians! More mileage means more vote on the upcoming elections! Media is just taking advantage...they have to earn to you know.

And talk about all the bruhaha of wiretapping...Some people may have doubts about it at all but me...YEAH IT HAPPENS...wanna know why i firmly believe so? I HAVE MY REASONS AND I CANT TELL. But trust me it is damn, scaringly true. But you got nothing to be scared about if you aren't keeping dark secrets..otherwise better learn to communicate in codes...

And about how nasty Philippine politics can be...Well i began to wonder...does these politicians ever have real friends? One day they're hugging each other, raising each others hand and got nothing but all praises bout each other but the next day you'll see on the news that they had a shouting match...tsk..tsk...how sad! It's okay to stand by one's principle rather than by friends. Yes...but what will you do if the other abused power? are you still willing to stand by that person? Just watching and standing by...keeping my quiet...i hate to ask this but its one thing that has been bugging me for days...DO THIS PEOPLE EVER HAVE DIGNITY AND CONSCIENCE? CAN THEY EVER CLOSE THEIR EYES AT NIGHT AND REST PEACEFULLY?

I truly pity these people. And the more i pity my kababayan for staying blind and non caring about this matter. You really think you can't do anything about this? Yes you can...You aren't just a mere spectator or a nobody... you are never one...Is it not that it's our money that they are all running after and killing each other for?

Sometimes, I wish I never have to pay my taxes..But i shall not be eaten by the "dirty" system. I continue to be a law abiding citizen but I shall never forget that I have the every right to meddle with the issues of my beloved country. After all I am still a Filipino...How much it pains me to see our dear politicians destroy themselves...for themselves and not for this Philippines.

Am i to see a brighter and better philippine politics? I will and may never know because i know i've got only half of my life left...

Life can be soooo boooring and challenging at the same time...well that defines life after all.

It hasn't been an all up ride for me..twas more of the biggest and scariest rollercoster ride in the galaxy!

But i guess that makes my life more interesting.

Where i am going.. i do not have the slightest idea...

Who i shall meet...so much looking forward to...

Will i succeed... i am working so damn hard...

to you...WELCOME TO MY WORLD!
